On-Call Replacement Opportunities

The Board maintains a roster of available and qualified temporary/casual staff for assignment to cover employee absences. Replacement staff are assigned from a pool on an as-needed basis.

Itinerant Music Instructor – Band

********NEW********Candidates must possess a university degree in music or music education with professional experience on at least one orchestral instrument, and must be able to instruct and demonstrate on instruments.

Itinerant Music Instructor – Strings

********NEW********Candidates must possess a university degree in music or music education with professional experience on one orchestral string instrument and must be able to instruct and demonstrate on instruments.

Itinerant Music Instructor – Vocal

********NEW********Candidates must possess a university degree in music or music education with two years’ related experience instructing Vocal music in an educational environment, the ability to model the appropriate singing voice for teachers and children are essential.

Itinerant Music Instructor – Orff and Recorder

********NEW********Candidates must possess a university degree in music or music education with two years’ related experience instructing Orff and/or Recorder in an educational environment. Orff specialist certification or deemed equivalent.

Community Support Worker

Aquatics Instructor

Applicants must hold current Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Award and Lifesaving Society Instructor Certificate; National Lifeguard Services Lifeguard Certificate; and Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR-C or equivalent.
A mandatory pool test is required for candidates selected for an interview.

Cafeteria General Support Perform food preparation and related services in a school or administrative office cafeteria. Cafeteria staff must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, be able to lift boxes of cooking equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
Call Centre Agent

Secondary school diploma and one year of related experience including extensive telephone communication experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven ability to communicate effectively with a customer service focus, ability to deal with difficult calls/situations and to take appropriate action in stressful or emergency situations according to Board and/or department procedures/guidelines and familiarity with telecommunications, radio, surveillance and building automation systems.

Child & Youth Worker

Applicants must possess a Child and Youth Care or Child and Youth Worker diploma. 

No other education qualifications (including B.A. CYC) will be considered.

Clerical Support - LINC Program Supply Clerical position for LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) Programs. 12 Locations across TDSB. Providing administrative assistance and general office support to the operation of LINC programs.

Designated Bilingual Early Childhood Educator

Applicants must hold a two-year Community College Early Childhood Education Diploma or Equivalent, be registered with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators, and be fluent in oral and written communication in English and French.
