Elementary Summer School 2021

Important Update: Elementary Summer School to be Remote (Online)

Please note: The health and well-being of TDSB students, staff and families is our top priority. Given the unpredictability of what the status of the COVID-19 pandemic will be in the summer and the need to begin planning well before that time, the decision has been made to offer all Summer Programs fully remote (online) for summer 2021.

While registration originally opened with both in-person and remote classes available, we have decided to offer all classes remotely. For those who have already registered for a remote summer class, you are not required to do anything at this time, your registration will remain active. For those who have registered for in-person classes, the summer school principal will be in touch with you to either transition your child into remote classes or cancel your registration.

The focus of the Elementary Summer School Program is to continue student learning and engagement through the month of July. Programs, embedded in Literacy and Numeracy, are developed by the local summer school principal to reflect the local school focus. Thirty-eight programs are offered to students in Kindergarten to Grade 8, from July 5 - 30, 2021, through remote (online) instruction.

Program Dates: July 5-30, 2021

Registration Information

  • Registration is online.
  • Most classes run for 3 hours from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., please contact the specific school for more information.
  • Full day programs are running from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Alexander Sterling PS, Flemington PS, Rose Avenue JPS and Yorkwoods PS.

Devices for online learning

The Continuing Education Department will not be supplying students with digital devices for its summer programs. For TDSB students who need access to a device for the summer, they may request to borrow one from their home school. Non-TDSB students will need to provide their own digital devices to support their online learning. For more information about TDSB digital learning tools, please click here.

Online Code of Conduct

All policies, procedures, codes of behaviour and rules of the TDSB apply to those using online systems and resources provided by or on behalf of the TDSB. The "Code of Online Conduct" pertains to the use of online systems and resources. This Code has been prepared to protect the rights and safety of all.
