Summer Sounds

Summer Sounds is a great place for your child to make some new friends while playing music in a fun and educational setting. Through music, students develop social skills, self-discipline, patience, determination and self-esteem.During the three week camp students will perform in several ensembles: concert band, string orchestra, chamber strings, guitar ensemble, jazz ensemble, woodwind ensemble, percussion ensemble, or brass ensemble. They will also have the choice of learning how to play the guitar, keyboard, a second instrument, GarageBand, sing in a choir or bucket drum, including an opportunity to perform an evening concert for parents on Thursday, July 16th.

Students who have completed Grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 as of June 2020 are eligible to register for the Summer Sounds Music Camp. Students who have completed Grade 9 may apply to be a student volunteer. Register early as spaces are limited to the first 100 students and classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Each student needs to have a band or string instrument for Homeroom periods. You have a few options to fulfill this requirement:

  1. bring your own instrument; or
  2. borrow an instrument from your school; or
  3. rent an instrument.

Instruments for all other classes will be provided by Summer Sounds.
