Background Summary:
Orde Street Public School was part of a Program Area Review during the 2024-25 school year, along with Kensington Community School, King Edward Junior and Senior Public School, and Ryerson Community School. At the end of June 2025, the Program Area Review was paused due to updated information communicated to the Board regarding a proposed development at 149 College Street. The proposal is for a 60-storey tower abutting the Orde Street Public School site. A construction management plan was provided by the developer to TDSB and Toronto Lands Corporation (TLC) staff for review and to determine the potential impacts the construction phase of this development may have on the operation of the school.
Next Steps:
TDSB Facility Services and Planning staff would like to provide the community with an update and to discuss next steps.
