Program Area Review Update – March 27, 2026

The TDSB was conducting a Program Area Review during the 2024-25 school year, involving Kensington CS, King Edward Jr & Sr PS, Orde St PS, and Ryerson CS. As per the previous community notice letters (sent September 19, 2025), staff from the TDSB received a construction management plan for the 149 College Street development, a proposed 60-storey tower adjacent to Orde Street Public School. As a result, the Program Area Review was paused in order for staff to review the report and determine potential impacts the construction of this development may have on the operation of the school and the overall program review.

Upon review of this new development and consideration of changing enrolment trends for the schools involved in the Program Area Review, it has been determined that there is no longer a need to proceed with the Program Area Review at this time. As a result:

  • Orde St PS will remain a JK to Grade 8 School, and;
  • Students registering from new residential developments within the Orde St PS attendance area will be redirected to Kensington CS or King Edward Jr & Sr PS, effective immediately.
