Summer 2017 ESL Program for International Students July 17 - August 04, 2017
Learn English and explore Canadian culture, with the Toronto District School Board this summer! International students, aged 12-17, will enjoy intensive English classes - taught by our qualified teachers - at world's most multicultural school board and will have unique opportunities to practise their English and experience Canadian society through trips and social activities. Students can also live with a homestay family, to experience Canadian life first-hand.
Important Dates
Registration Deadline - May 5, 2017
- Monday, July 17 to Friday, August 04 are program days. Program days include Saturdays but do not include Sundays. Students can spend the day with their homestay families or relatives on Sundays
- Saturday, August 05 is the departure day. Students leave homestay
Program Description
Monday to Saturday, 9 am - 4 pm
- English classes and school activities for 9 classroom days - listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Activities may include trips in the neighbourhood including: the local fire hall, police station, markets, etc. Visits will depend upon the interest of students

Pricing
- $3,750.00 CAD: includes program, homestay and transportation between homestay and school and a non-refundable $300 administration fee
- $2,750.00 CAD: includes program and a non-refundable $300 administration fee
- $150.00 CAD: a refund for current or new TDSB full-time international students will be provided upon confirmation from the TDSB International Programs and Admissions Office
Fee includes
- English assessment, instruction and materials
- Certificate of Study
- Access and transportation for all scheduled tours and activities
- Four out-of-town excursions and weekly in-town excursions
- Medical and accident insurance for the duration of the program
- 3 Meals & boarding at Mono Cliffs Outdoor Education Centre
Fee does not include airfare or hotel accommodation
Note : Airport pick-up and drop-off are the responsibility of custodians in Toronto. If there are no custodians in Toronto, Canada Homestay may provide the service for a fee. Homestay accommodation (if applicable)
- Double occupancy (2 students per family) for 20 nights with three meals per day
- Transportation between homestay and school
- $40 per extra night if needed (limited to 1 or 2 nights). Direct contact with Canada Homestay is required in these cases
Registration Deadline: May 5, 2017
- All notarized, fully completed required forms and payment, which includes the non-refundable administration fee of $300 CAD, are required by May 5, 2017
- Please note, 6-8 weeks are typically required to process student visas.
Methods of Payment
Fee payment is made payable to the Toronto District School Board, Continuing Education in Canadian currency by one of the following methods:
- Money Order
- Certified Cheque
- Bank Draft: all the information of the cashing bank in Toronto, Canada (i.e. Name, Address, Institution and Branch Number) must be listed on the foreign bank draft
