Google Translate Limitations Disclaimer

The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.

The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.

The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.

Secondary School Placement Centre

The TDSB Secondary School Placement Centre assists students living in Toronto who are experiencing difficulty gaining admission to secondary school. Placement Centre staff, during peak registration periods, will confer with students individually, assess their unique learning needs, and make referrals to appropriate secondary schools/programs.

Profile of a student best served by the Placement Centre:
  • Student is 16-20 years of age, currently registered or not;
  • Student wants to re-engage in a different learning environment (i.e., alternative secondary school, new traditional school, Continuous Intake Co-op, etc.);
  • Student wants to enter the TDSB from another jurisdiction/Board and needs assistance; is not a Safe Schools transfer, Newcomer, Visa Student or Adult over 21.

To ensure there is no delay in processing your information be sure to communicate the following:
  • Student’s first and last name
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone number
  • Last school attended
  • Number of credits earned
NB: If the person referring is NOT the student, please indicate your name, telephone number and relationship to the student.
