Parent/Caregiver & Community Engagement
Parent/Caregiver & Community Engagement Workers (PCCEWs) build strategic partnerships by proactively engaging parents/caregivers, School Councils, and the community. This role focuses on facilitating opportunities for parent leadership, advocacy, and ambassadorship. All activities are aligned with the 'School as the Heart of the Community' (MSIC) pillar and the Board's Multi-Year Strategic Plan, which is committed to welcoming, respecting, and valuing parents/caregivers as partners in their children's learning and development. The Inner City Advisory Committee
The Inner City Advisory Committee advises the TDSB on matters concerning students in inner city communities and on Board policies and programs addressing the socio-economic circumstances of students and families across the system, including the Model Schools for Inner Cities program. The membership is comprised of community resource persons, parent/caregivers, educators, designated TDSB staff and trustees appointed by the Board. The ICAC is co-chaired by TDSB Trustees and a Community Co-chair.
