tdsbCREATES Artist Residencies in every Learning Network, Grades 1-6
56 elementary schools across the TDSB will host an artist in residence for five days between March and May. Each of these schools will be partnered with a different artist, ensuring all three arts disciplines – dance, drama, visual arts – are represented in the Learning Centres. An artist will be partnered with two classes in each of the schools for five days. The artist will work in one classroom in the morning and another classroom in the afternoon.
The residency will facilitate a rich creative process which can be extended and expanded upon by the classroom teacher. The residency will culminate with a sharing of the learning, rather than a final exhibition or performance.
