Math can be one of the most challenging subjects for students, but it is something we use every day. Whether it’s basic skills or more advanced concepts, having a solid foundation in math is critical for success.
We are committed to supporting students as they develop valuable math skills and want to help them become active participants in their learning. Finding new and innovative ways to connect with students and make learning fun is key to success. It’s important to use a variety of resources and technologies that engage students’ abilities, interests, and, most importantly, learning styles.
To help further focus our supports and efforts in the classroom, we recently launched Improving Success in Mathematics, a math strategy designed for educators, with a goal of improving student achievement in math.
An investment in 10 math and numeracy coaches and 10 STEM coaches who will work with six instructional leaders in the math department, is focused on supporting staff and students to improve both teaching and learning.
