Secondary Summer School

Get ahead with secondary summer programs! Reach ahead or catch up on high school credit courses. Explore a new pathway or take courses that are available at your day school. This summer we are running programs at many secondary schools and three of our adult high schools. NOTE: All registrants must have earned course pre-requisites.

  • Morning classes 9:00 am - 11:45 am
  • Lunch break 11:45 am - 12:30 pm
  • Afternoon classes 12:30 pm - 3:15 pm
  • Full credit runs 9:00 am - 3:15 pm

Night School

The TDSB offers a wide range of high school credits at night, in locations across the city.

How do night school semesters work?
Credit courses run two nights per week, for 15 weeks, during the fall and winter semesters. Fall begins in September. Winter begins in February.

International Languages courses run one night per week for the full year (30 weeks ) from September 30-June 2.

All night school credit courses run from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Day school students need permission from the school they attend to enrol in night school courses.    
  • TDSB students:  please see your guidance counsellor for the appropriate registration form.
  • Students not attending TDSB schools: Download our online registration form. Please keep a copy for your records. Mail the completed form to:

  • Adults new to TDSB night school: Please register in person at your night school between January 6-24, 2014, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. on the night that the school is open (see list above).


  1. Proof of citizenship (birth certificate, passport, citizenship card), permanent residency, or other Canadian residency status (refugee, refugee claimant, VISA students, or work permit).
  2. Photo ID
  3. Transcripts, report cards or other education documents showing the appropriate course pre-requisite has been earned.
  4. A valid Study Permit is required for adults who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Important Information:  A fee of $1750 applies for all visa students and applicants with work permits.  This non-refundable fee is payable at time of registration.  A certified cheque or money order, payable to the TDSB, must be submitted with the registration form.
