Application Information
- It is entirely an online process.
- All communications will be sent via the email address provided in the online application.
- Applications to the Middle French Immersion program may be submitted, on behalf of students in the English program, the year the child is in Grade 3 for entry in September of Grade 4.

Offers of Placements: Offers of placements for on-time applicants only will begin February 2027 and be ongoing in the weeks following.
- The seating process for French Immersion will occur centrally and all communication will come from [email protected].
- Please do not contact schools directly for selection results.
- Please check your junk mail and spam folders daily.
- You must take action to reserve a seat by the deadline.
- An expired offer is treated as declined.
Guidelines
Twins or Multiples Births: A separate application must be submitted for each child.
Sibling: Applicants may indicate if an older sibling is currently enrolled in the same French Immersion program at the same school, provided they are not in their graduating year.
Placements: Placements in French Immersion are offered based on the child’s principal residential home address of record prior to the application deadline, not on location or enrolment in childcare.
While every effort is made to seat students in their local area French Immersion school, this is not always possible. In cases where the number of applications in a given area is greater than the number of program spaces in the school, students may be redirected to schools with available program space.
If the address changes between the application deadline and the fall of the entry year, there is no guarantee of admission in the new area French Immersion school.
Late Applications
A late application received after the official deadline (January 29, 2027, at 4:00 p.m.) and before the close of the late submission period, May 31, 2027, at 4:00 p.m., will be added to the late waitlist at the designated French Immersion school by address and considered subject to available space.
- Any movement on the waitlists will depend on available space following the September Elementary Reorganization process and registration changes and, therefore cannot be guaranteed.
What is a Waitlist?
If your child does not receive a seat in their local area French Immersion school or if you apply late, your child will be placed on a waitlist. All waitlists for Middle French Immersion (Grade 4 entry) are managed centrally by the Central Program Admissions Office. There are two types of waitlists:
On-Time Waitlist – Applicants who submit their application by the published deadline and are subsequently offered a redirected placement.
Late Waitlist – Applicants who submit their application after the published deadline.
Addressing Vacant Seats in Early French Immersion (Grade 4 entry)
Should seats remain available in some program locations for French Immersion (Grade 4 entry), late applicants will be considered subject to available space until the end of September of the entry year (i.e., Grade 4).
- Applicants on the On-Time Waitlist are considered for available spaces before applicants on the Late Waitlist.
- Late applicants are received based on date and time of submission and considered for available spaces after On-Time Waitlist applicants.
Important: Admission is not guaranteed after the close of the application period. Offers may be considered subject to Elementary Reorganization, and not before.
There are no waitlists nor applications in non-entry years.
