Entry to Trades (ETT)

Free, hands-on pre-apprenticeship training is available for individuals interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades:
    • Cook
    • General Carpenter
    • Hairstylist

Pre-Apprenticeship Program Objectives:

    • Address labour shortages in high-demand trades
    • Increase exposure to the skilled trades
    • Support prospective apprentices who require job readiness skills and experience to secure employment
    • Help individuals prepare for long-term employment by bridging the gap between existing skills and employer needs
The Entry to Trades program includes 6 to 14 weeks of pre-apprenticeship training, incorporating job readiness and employment services, followed by an 8-week work placement. Upon completion, participants will have the skills and experience needed to enter the workforce or register as an apprentice to continue their training.
