What to expect from the program

Classes are led by qualified instructors using the LINC Curriculum Guidelines, the Canadian Language Benchmarks, the Canadian Citizenship and Discover Canada resources.  Lesson planning and on-going assessment is guided by the Portfolio-based Language Assessment approach.  Both formal and informal assessments are real-world and task-based.  Student’s progress is supported and documented through evidence-based classroom work samples collected in the learner’s learning portfolio.  Progress reports are issued at the end of each term (December, March and June) or at the completion of the CLB course. CLB progress is documented through LINC certificates issued in accordance with the certificate issuance policy. 
 

Eligibility: Is this program right for you?

  • Be a Permanent Resident, a Protected Person, a Convention Refugee 
  • Be at least 18 years old 
  • Not be registered in a CLIC program 
  • Take a test at a Language Assessment Centre
