Special Education Advisory Committee - SEAC


COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES
 

The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is seeking Community Representatives (additional members) to serve on the TDSB Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the 2026-2030 term.

SEAC may provide recommendations to the board in respect of any matter affecting the establishment, development and delivery of special education programs and services for exceptional students (students with disabilities and special education needs). Meetings are held monthly, typically on the second Monday of each month, with the option to attend virtually.

The Ontario Education Act Regulation 464/97 defines the role of SEAC, whose responsibilities are to provide important advice on special education to the TDSB and to to make recommendations to the board on anything that impacts the establishment, development and delivery of special education programs and services for exceptional pupils of the board. The TDSB values the recommendations put forward by SEAC, and takes recommendations under advisement to better support students with special education needs.

If you are interested in becoming a member,  please complete and submit the required application forms found on the SEAC membership page.

If you wish to present or delegate at a SEAC meeting, please complete the SEAC Delegation form and forward it to [email protected] at least 10 working days prior to the meeting

SEAC Meetings

SEAC meetings are held monthly in hybrid format (virtual and in person at 5050 Yonge Street), from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. All interested parents, guardians and members of the public are invited to attend SEAC meetings.
