School Climate Survey 2025

The Student School Climate Survey is one way the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) works to understand and strengthen students’ experiences in school.

In 2025, students in Grades 4 to 12 participated in the TDSB School Climate Survey as part of the Health and Peer Relations Study with the University of Ottawa. The survey was informed by leading child and adolescent psychologists, psychiatrists, educational researchers, and school psychologists, and included selected questions from the TDSB Student Census (2023).  The TDSB Research and Development Department engaged in this partnership to help connect university‑based research with district priorities and everyday practice.

Schools received school level reports in winter 2026 and are using the information as part of their ongoing School Improvement Planning work. System level results were shared with senior leadership as part of strategic planning for the school board.

As per the Ministry of Education’s Putting Student Achievement First Act, 2026, school boards will no longer be required to administer the school climate survey.
