6.5.7
In
keeping with Truth and Reconciliation, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students
will be supported outside of the Out-of-Area Admissions Policy, and given
priority access. Admission will be supported at any regular intake time, even
in schools closed to Out-of-Area Admissions, where possible.
6.5.8
Secondary students whose child(ren) is/are enrolled in child care in the
catchment area will be supported outside of the Out-of-Area Admissions policy,
and given priority access. Admission will be supported and accommodated at any
regular intake time, even in schools closed to Out-of-Area Admissions, where
possible.
Students will need to indicate their request to
register and the reason for the request by either completing the appropriate
online form below for facilitated advocacy and registration support or by
contacting the requested school directly.
Registration Support for Students Self-Identifying as First
Nations, Métis, and Inuit
- Request will be shared with staff
from the Urban Indigenous Education Centre
- It is strongly
recommended that students make arrangements for the following year during the
months of
January and February to ensure that requests are
accommodated and that course selections are submitted in a timely
fashion.
