Students who reside within the City of Toronto have the right to attend a school which is designated to serve their residential address. The "Find Your School" section of the website identifies the designated schools for each residential address.
Students also have the opportunity to access schools outside of the school that is designated to serve their home address by applying for Out-of-Area Admissions. Acceptance at these schools is subject to space availability and program suitability. Find more information and details here.
If you are interested in attending a school other than your designated school by address, each student can submit one online application. When applying for Out-of-Area admissions in September 2023, applicants may include up to two (2) school choices in their application.
If applying to two (2) schools, the choices must be ranked. Each application will be considered equally (adhering to the random selection priorities). Applicants selected for their first choice will not be considered for their second choice.
Students applying for Out-of-Area Admissions in JK should also still register at their local/designated school by address in case they are not selected at their requested school. If selected, the parent/guardian/caregiver must notify the local school.
