How to Complete an Out-of-Area Admissions Application

Step-by-step help for the shared Elementary and Secondary PowerSchool Enrollment workflow, with original source illustrations.

This guide covers the common Elementary and Secondary PowerSchool Enrollment workflow. For school choices, dates, offers and waitlists, use the Elementary or Secondary admissions page.

1. Create an account or sign in

Start from the current application link shared for your school level when the application window opens.

  • New user: choose Create Account. An adult family member creates the account. If you do not have an email address, you may create an account using your cell phone number, but an email address is required to complete the application.
  • Returning user: choose Sign In and use your existing account.
  • Forgotten password: choose Forgot password to recover access.
  • Unsure whether you have an account: try Create Account. If your email is already on file, a new account cannot be created; use Forgot password.
  • Phone-number account: choose Sign into your account using your cell phone number.

When all issues are resolved, choose Submit Submit control from the source guide. You may print or save a copy of the completed form.

After submitting, you cannot make changes yourself. Contact your current TDSB school to request a correction. If you are not a current TDSB student, use the support route on Main OOA and include the applicant’s first and last name and the requested change.

7. Complete an application for another child

Each child needs an application. The exception is twins or multiples applying to the same school and grade: include them in one application and do not submit a second application for that request.

After completing one child’s form, start a form for the additional student. You may Import family information, such as parent/caregiver and address details, from the previous form or Start from Scratch. If you import details, review them for the next child. Follow the same completion, review and submission steps.

Do not submit duplicate applications for the same student. Duplicate submissions are deleted and do not improve selection chances.
