Welcome to TDSB Connects, an update on news and events from across the Toronto District School Board.

  1. Get Involved: There are lots of ways to get involved in your child’s education – joining your school council, helping with homework, attending a Community Advisory Committee meeting, volunteering, or sharing your voice on a public consultation are just a few!

  2. Parent Resources: School can be an exciting and overwhelming time – for both parents and students. We’ve put together some great resources to help you have a great year.

  3. Supporting All Students: Check out our refreshed equity website about how we’re helping all students succeed in the TDSB.

  4. Save the date: Registration is opening soon for the PIAC Parent Conference! See what’s in store for the 11th annual conference for parents.

  5. SRO Program Review: Public consultations are underway for the School Resource Officer program. Join us and share your voice.

  6. EQAO and OSSLT Results: On September 20, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) released 2016-17 achievement results for Grades 3 and 6 Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics and Grade 10 Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test.

  7. New Transportation Portal: Parents/guardians with children who are transported by school bus can now sign up to access transportation information online and receive email notifications of bus delays and cancellations.

  8. Orange Shirt Day: On September 29, staff and students across the TDSB will come together to mark Orange Shirt Day, which recognizes the harm that the Residential School System did to First Nations, Métis and Inuit children and that every child matters.

  9. Islamic Heritage Month: October is Islamic Heritage Month. Check out our calendar and see how we’re celebrating!

  10. International Walk to School Day: Start fall off on the right step by joining students and families across Canada in celebrating iWALK/iWheel on October 4!

  11. United Way CN Tower Climb: Are you UP for the challenge? The TDSB is encouraging schools and communities to participate in the United Way CN Tower Climb on Saturday, November 4. Connect with your school about how you and your child can participate in supporting the student climb today.

  12. Trustee Ward Boundary Review: The TDSB is undertaking a Trustee Ward Boundary Review to align with the new City of Toronto wards recently enacted by Toronto City Council. Members of the public are invited to provide feedback on the proposed options through public meetings and an online survey.

  13. District and Local News: Stay informed about district-wide news through TDSB Update and connect with your Trustee for local information and events.
