Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to TDSB Connects, an update on news and events from across the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

Requests for Switching Between Learning Models – For the 2021-22 school year, there is one opportunity to switch between in-person and virtual learning. To coordinate switches for February 2022, families/students requesting a change must complete the Switch Form. Families/students who do not wish to make a change do not need to complete a form. Learn more.

The Elementary Switch Form will be open from December 3, 2021 to January 7, 2022.

The Secondary Switch Form will be open from November 29 to December 6, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccines for Children – The COVID-19 vaccine is now available for children aged 5-11. Read more in the recent letter from Toronto Public Health how to book an appointment and access resources and information about the vaccine. You can also join one of three Toronto Public Health webinars to hear directly from Dr. Vinita Dubey, TPH Associate Director of Health.

TDSB Vaccination Procedure – The TDSB continues to implement its COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure. Learn more.

Ministry of Education Update – Last week, the Ministry of Education made several updates regarding COVID-19 protocols in schools. Learn more.

Travel Policies – Families are reminded to review the established federal international travel policies – including the guidelines for unvaccinated, school-aged children – in advance of the December break in an effort to prevent absences in January related to post-travel requirements.

Bridging the Gap Conference – Registration closes soon for the PIAC Parent/Guardian Conference Bridging the Gap this weekend. Join us for inspiration and informative keynote speakers, a variety of workshops and an opportunity to connect with other parents and experts. Learn more.

TDSB System Calendar – There are many ways for parents/guardians and school community members to get involved, learn, connect and participate in TDSB activities and events. Check our new system calendar to see what’s going on across the Board.

International Languages: Elementary and African Heritage (ILE-AH) – This free online program welcomes JK to Grade 8 students to learn a language (except for English and French) for 2.5 hours a week. Learn more and register online today.

Adult ESL Program – Adult learners will have an opportunity to improve their English online this fall/winter. A broad range of English as a Second Language classes will be available, from beginner to advanced levels. Learn more by visiting our program website.

Learn4Life Adult General Interest Program – Learn a new skill or take up a hobby in-person or online this winter with courses in art, computers, food, languages, fitness and much more!
