Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to TDSB Connects, an update on news and events from across the Toronto District School Board.

Update on Continuation of Learning, Graduation and Post-Secondary: Director of Education John Malloy has posted a letter online with an update on the continuation of learning, graduation and post-secondary transition for TDSB students with regard to the current health crisis.

Learn at Home: The Ministry of Education has launched a new website to help students in Grades K – 12 learn at home. The website, www.ontario.ca/learnathome, provides students with supplementary learning resources to practice math and literary skills during the closure of all public schools.

TDSB Student Learning Resources: The TDSB has launched online learning resources so students can continue to learn while schools are closed. This site supports the Ministry of Education's Learn at Home initiative and includes a variety of resources that cover a range of grades and subjects.

TDSB Playgrounds and Social Distancing: For the health and safety of our school communities, please remember the importance of social distancing and minimizing contact between people, including when using playground equipment. Children should only be using the equipment when other children are not around.

ETFO Tentative Agreement: The Ontario Public School Boards' Association (OPSBA) and the Government of Ontario have reached a tentative agreement with the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO) for both teachers and education workers. The details of the agreement remain confidential until ratified by all parties. ETFO has suspended all job action while awaiting ratification of the deal. For on-going labour updates, visit www.tdsb.on.ca/labour.

Webchats – Changes to School Start and End Times: If you are impacted by next year’s changing bell times at 129 elementary schools across the TDSB, join us next week at one of the online webchats to ask questions and share your views. The online webchats will be held on Thursday, March 26 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Thursday, March 26 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Virtual Board Meetings: During the closure of all public schools, the Government of Ontario is allowing school boards to meet virtually. Please join us for our first Virtual Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
