Multi-Year Strategic Plan Renewal 2023-2027

MOVING FORWARD

As TDSB approaches the end of its current strategic plan, we are launching the Multi-year Strategic Plan Renewal.

The strategic plan is the long-term vision for the TDSB, establishing clear priorities that will guide Trustees and system and school leaders over the next four years. The goal is to develop a four-year roadmap, driven by student-centered needs and goals that are equity-informed and evidence-based.

Members of the TDSB school community will have opportunities to engage and reflect on the existing strategic plan and identify their priorities to create a more focused strategy.

HAVE YOUR SAY!

The most important contributor to the strategic planning process is the voice of the TDSB school community. Throughout the next few months, we will be asking students, parents/guardians/caregivers, staff, and community members to reflect on the current strategic priorities and goals and contribute to renewing the MYSP.

All members of the TDSB school community are invited to Have Your Say! We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities listed below to contribute to the conversation.

To learn more, please also read the MYSP Renewal Question & Answers.

You are invited to contribute your input through an online survey. This allows you to contribute at your convenience and anonymously. The online survey will remain open until October 31, 2023. Complete a survey now!

Small group conversations are scheduled for staff to occur in October. Further information and the registration link will be shared through TDSB Connects (October issue).

Community agencies and education partners have been invited by email to participate in small group discussions.

Consultation sessions will be set up for each Ward. During these meetings, we will provide an introduction to help participants better understand the strategic plan and then engage in a discussion about the current strategic plan and your vision for the renewed plan. The local Trustee, superintendent, and school principals will help facilitate the discussion and answer questions. View the list of Ward Forums and register here.

Are you part of a community group or committee that is interested in contributing to the renewal of the new strategic plan? Community agencies, advisory committees, parent committees, student committees, and others are welcome to download the facilitation guide, record your discussions, and submit input to us. Student and staff groups are also welcome to use the guide to facilitate their own discussions.

The guide is available in English and has been translated into the following languages to encourage participation from diverse communities: Bengali, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Farsi, French, Gujarati, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, and Urdu). Please submit the feedback by Friday, September 29, 2023.

To capture student voice in the MYSP renewal process, focussed student conversations, as well as results from the Student Census will be used to inform the MYSP.

The TDSB Student Census is a confidential and voluntary survey that asks important questions about students’ experiences at school. The Student Census is an opportunity to honour students’ voices and gather important insights from across all grades. The Student Census is scheduled for April and May 2023. For more information, please visit Student Census.
