Stephen Leacock C.I. is the Centre of Innovations for Skills and Technologies for the North East region of the Toronto District School Board. With the support to the Ministry of Education, we offer two Specialist High Skill Major Programs: Information Communications Technology (ICT) and Hospitality and Tourism. Our ICT program offers students a unique opportunity to develop key skills for careers in Television and Media Production, Robotics and other communications and technology related industries. Our Hospitality and Tourism program allows students to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for apprenticeship training, college and university placement, or more directly into the workplace.
Stephen Leacock is the proud recipient of the Anne Hope Award to recognize its contribution to equity. Our Robotics Team recently won a championship in Fall Fiesta First Canadian Robotics Competition. Our school also performs well in Canadian and international mathematics and science contests. We ranked 6th among 33 schools in Canada in the Canadian Team Mathematics Competition hosted by the University of Waterloo in 2015. One of our students also ranked 1st place in the Individual Performance at the same contest. Our Girls Basketball Team has won the city championship 3 years in a roll and advanced to OFSAA. Academic excellence and student engagement is at the heart of our school.
