Virtual Ward Forum
Tuesday, December 8, 2020
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
School councils, student councils, parents/caregivers, community members and staff are invited to come together to share school updates and discuss any concerns you may have. There will also be an information session on the election of Ward 20 parent representatives on either the Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) or French as a Second Language Advisory Committee (FSLAC) where parents can provide advice at the board level.
While it is the priority of the Toronto District School Board to ensure delivery of curriculum through new virtual platforms and re-structured in-class learning, the underlying stress and continued uncertainty of the pandemic on children and parents must be addressed. The second half of the forum will be dedicated to a session led by artist Diana Tso to explore new ways to share our stories together. Diana is a Toronto-based theatre creator, playwright, storyteller, performer and poet. She is currently on the faculty at George Brown College Theatre School and is an artist in education with TDSBCreates.
6:30 – 7:10 pm - TDSB updates from Superintendent of Education, PIAC Representative and Trustee
7:10 – 7:30 pm - Information on election of the Ward 20 PIAC and FSLAC Representative
7:30 – 8:30 pm - “How to Virtually Stay Creative Together” A facilitated session by artist Diana Tso exploring new ways to create and share our stories together. This session is a time to play and discover our connections through imagination.
