The 28th Annual Ontario Technological Skills Competitions (OTSC) have now come to a close!

Many, many thanks to all of the TDSB students who dedicated their time and energies towards preparing for these competitions, and for recognizing the importance of Technological Education programs in the TDSB by participating in these events. Thanks must also go to all of the associated Teachers and Administrators who work tirelessly to set up and manage the competitions, and coach the competitors - this work begins in September each year, and they continue to relentlessly stay involved because of the importance it plays in the lives of our student competitors. Participating in the Skills competitions is an unparalleled learning opportunity. Kudos to all for helping to make it happen.

The Experiential Learning Department is proud of each and every one of our competitors who traveled to the Toronto Congress Centre this week to test their skills against other secondary school students from across Ontario - way to go Team TDSB! We brought a total of 86 student competitors to the contest this year, and they all performed with skill, dignity, and integrity. You are all champions!!!

On behalf of the Experiential Learning Department, a profound thank you to all of the Teacher Advisors and TDSB Skills Chairpersons - many who play both roles! Without the time, energy, and commitment from you to your students and this entire experience, none of this could happen. Your tireless dedication and continued support and participation in these competitions is tremendously appreciated - the learning and maturing that happens for many of our students through the contests is remarkable! Thank you for also seeing the benefits, and taking the time to provide these opportunities for the students you work with – it makes a real difference, and is not to be overlooked or forgotten.
