April 28th Marks the National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace

Monday, April 27, 2020
Categories: Happenings @ TDSB

On April 28 the TDSB recognizes the annual Workers Day of Mourning in Canada. This day is dedicated to remembering those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness on the job as a result of a work-related tragedy.

This year brings special meaning as the TDSB expresses gratitude to all frontline workers in healthcare, transportation, food services, and other service staff – including the TDSB’s own front line staff members – who are keeping our communities going during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year, the TDSB will recognize this day by lowering the flags at the TDSB main board office and encouraging those who are able to please pause in silence at 11 a.m. to recognize this national day of mourning.
