| The TDSB is committed to providing safe and reliable transportation for your child. Your child may be eligible for transportation to and from school in certain circumstances.Your child may be eligible for transportation if you live beyond the following distances:
Transportation may also be provided for students who have a medical condition or disability that severely limits walking. If your child is placed in a Special Education class or French immersion program not located in your home school, and meets the above distances, he or she may also be eligible for transportation. Transportation is not provided for students attending any school or special program at their request, even when distance is a factor. |
| To find out if your child is eligible for transportation, talk to your principal. You can also ask for a copy of the TDSB Student Transportation brochure from your principal or your local Transportation Office:
You can also contact Transportation via e-mail at transportation@tdsb.on.ca Cancellation: Occasionally, severe weather conditions may require the Toronto District School Board to cancel transportation or, in extreme conditions, close schools. The decision to close schools is made by the Director of Education. If transportation is cancelled or schools are closed, the local media will be informed before the beginning of the school day. You can tune in to your radio and television news stations for the latest information. Parents may keep their child at home if they are concerned about inclement weather (especially in the case of medically at risk students) even if transportation is not cancelled by the School Board, since buses could experience long traffic delays. |
