National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace

Categories: News News Releases

On April 28, we observe the annual National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace, a day dedicated to honouring the memory of those who have lost their lives, suffered injuries, or faced illness due to work-related tragedies.

This year, as we commemorate this important day, we want to extend our gratitude to all workers across various sectors, including healthcare, transportation, food services, and our own TDSB staff in the education sector.

As the Day of Mourning occurs on a Sunday, the TDSB will lower the flags at TDSB schools and sites on Friday, April 26. We invite everyone, if possible, to join us in a moment of silence at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, recognizing the day and reflecting on the significance of workplace safety.

Thank you for your commitment to safety and for honouring the memory of those we have lost.
