Toronto District Elementary School, Toronto District Secondary School: Education and Community Partnership Program

The Toronto District School Board through the Ministry of Education Education and Community Partnership Program has developed collaborative partnerships with 26 government approved facilities to provide critical support to children and youth who cannot attend school due to their primary need for care, treatment and/or rehabilitation services as well as to facilitate transitions to future educational success.

• Kindergarten
• Primary (Grades 1-3)
• Junior (Grades 4-6)
• Intermediate (Grades 7-8)
• High School (up to age 21)

The collaborative partnership between the agencies and the TDSB provides best practices in treatment and education for children and youth during the school day.

The agency provides services in one of the following categories:

• Care (e.g., hospitals, pregnant and parenting teens)
• Treatment (e.g., child/youth mental health centres)
• Corrections (e.g., open detention/custody) through the courts

Students are taught by Toronto District School Board (TDSB) teachers who follow the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum.
