Trustee Bio

I am a parent, athlete, community organizer and communications professional with a Bachelor of Arts from University of Windsor, and over 20 years experience in the fields of marketing-communications and community health and fitness. I have held senior marketing positions in public organizations and have volunteered on the board of Fast and Female a Canadian charity that promotes girls participation in sport. I have lived in Parkdale for 15 years where I served as Co-Chair of the Dr. Rita Cox - Kina Minogok Public School (formerly Queen Victoria P.S.) school council and co-founded the Black Student Success Committee.

As a first-generation Canadian and former North York Board of Education student, I know the life-changing power of public education — for individuals, families and communities—and am committed to getting Toronto schools working for everyone. As Trustee, I plan to continue championing equity, challenging systemic barriers and helping to create safer school environments  in collaboration with the community, to support the success of all students.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading memoirs, playing word and trivia games, and competing in sports having proudly represented Canada as a masters track & field athlete in the 100m and 200m sprint events.
