Let’s get rolling! Join students and teachers across the province in celebrating Bike to School Week by using an active and/or sustainable mode of travel during the week of May 27th to 31st. The week beginning on the last Monday of May is the official Bike to School Week at the TDSB.

About the event:

Bike to School Week is an annual celebration of active transportation and schools can participate by encouraging their students to walk and/or roll to school, and by holding events both inside and outside the classroom to promote the benefits of active transportation. Bike to School Week builds on the success of Bike Month (May 27th - June 30th), a month-long campaign that encourages residents of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) to engage in active transportation through a series of events.

Active transportation includes walking, cycling, the use of mobility devices, and many other forms of human-powered transportation. Research shows that those who use active modes of transportation experience benefits to mental and physical health and well-being, are better prepared to learn and work and are more connected to their communities.

How to register:

Visit the Bike to School Week website and complete the registration form.

All schools that register and report on events by June 14, 2019 will be entered in a random draw for a $200 gift card from MEC.
