The electronic translation service on the Toronto District School Board website is hosted by Google Translate, a third party service. The TDSB does not guarantee or warrant the reliability, accuracy or completeness of any translated information.
The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.

École Bannockburn Public School is one of the Four French Immersion Centres in TDSB. The red brick school opened in 1924 and housed 325 students but closed in 1981 due to declining enrolment. The school will expand by one grade per year up to and including Grade 6 in September 2027. In September 2024, École Bannockburn Public School reopened as a Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 French Immersion Centre.

Early French Immersion begins in Junior Kindergarten. All class activities are conducted in French until the end of Grade 3 although some specialist subjects (like Health and Physical Education) may be taught in English. Formal English instruction is introduced in Grade 4. The program continues with 50% instruction in French and 50% in English for Grades 4-8.
