Sir John A Macdonald Collegiate Institute

School History

Sir John Alexander Macdonald (1815 – 1891) was the first and longest-serving Prime Minister of Canada and a dominant figure of Canadian Confederation. He was a major proponent of a national railway, the Canadian Pacific Railway, completed in 1885, linking Canada from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean.
