Submitting a Nomination

Please carefully review the information on this page before you submit your nomination:

The TDSB Excellence Awards online nomination form accepts both video and written nominations. This document shares the best practices of each option to guide nominators as they complete the nomination form. Use these examples to guide your Excellence Awards nominations.

We have organized optional virtual support sessions on March 27, April 2, and April 3 for anyone who may require assistance or has questions about completing an Excellence Awards nomination. Please visit the Excellence Awards homepage for details.

To submit a nomination for a TDSB Excellence Award, please be aware that the following information will be required when completing an online nomination form:

• Contact information for yourself and the individual or group being nominated
• Selection of an nomination category
• Description of how the individual/group demonstrated excellence in the selected award category
• Submission of two supporting reference letters or videos (see the nomination form for details). Each reference letter or video needs to highlight how the nominee’s actions or initiative for the specific award category demonstrates excellence, leadership, and their impact.

Please keep the following in mind when preparing to submit a nomination:

• Individual TDSB staff or a group of staff can be nominated for an award
• Actions must have been demonstrated since January 2023
• Actions should demonstrate outstanding work and contribution
• Individuals cannot nominate themselves but a Principal or Manager may nominate an individual staff member or team
• The nomination form allows you to save your nomination submission before submitting. Use the SAVE button at the bottom of the form to save your progress. You can do this as often as needed up until the submission deadline on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 4 p.m. When you are ready to submit, use the SUBMIT button.
