Étienne Brûlé (1592-1633) was a French explorer in Canada in the 17th century. He was a scout and a spy for Samuel de Champlain. A rugged outdoorsman, he was completely at home deep in the Canadian wilderness, and he took to the lifestyle of the First Nations.
