It is
my pleasure to be one of the two elected Student Trustees for the TDSB! I
am a grade 12 student attending C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute. From a
young age, I have recognized discrimination and have been actively involved
with issues of justice by challenging stereotypes and removing stigma. My goal is to shine a light on the numerous
success stories from my peers and fellow classmates to support the brilliance
in my community and in all parts of the system.
I
enjoy playing squash, tutoring, and taking part in any leadership opportunity
that come my way. I value every mentor that takes me under their wing
and am looking forward to growing as a leader. As a Student Trustee, I am excited to
represent students’ voices at the board level. Please feel free to contact me
if you have any questions or concerns.
On
the TDSB website, and on this page, you can stay informed on what’s happening
at the Board, including policies under review, program updates and discussions
around new initiatives to improve student success. You can also learn more
about ways you can get involved and participate in the education process, like
attending Board meetings or checking out volunteer opportunities. Education is
a shared responsibility, and I welcome and encourage your participation in our
public school system.
