The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) has reached a tentative local agreement with the Board’s 11,141 elementary teachers who are represented by the Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT). This local agreement must still be ratified by the Board of Trustees and ETT membership.
The TDSB ratified a local agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 4400 in June 2020.
Local negotiations are ongoing with secondary teachers and occasional teachers represented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF), elementary occasional teachers represented by the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO), Professional Student Services Personnel (PSSP) represented by OSSTF, and staff represented by the Maintenance & Construction Skilled Trades Council (MCSTC).
- The tentative local agreement between the TDSB and ETT is anticipated to be ratified by November 30, 2020.
“I am very pleased that the talks between the TDSB and ETT have come to a successful conclusion and we have reached a tentative local agreement. We're committed to working with our other union partners and look forward to reaching and ratifying local agreements as soon as possible to ensure increased stability for our students.”
