The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.

The Enhancing Equity Task Force Report and Recommendations are now available online as part of the agenda for the December 13 Board meeting.

Following more than a year of consultation with our communities, the Enhancing Equity Task Force has completed their in-depth report focused on improving the learning and well-being of each and every student by understanding and mitigating – or removing – the barriers of social and economic inequity.


Equity is not about taking things away from students who are thriving, but rather enhancing supports for those who are falling behind. The TDSB wants our students to achieve success and this report identifies a number of ways we can make changes that are necessary for some, but beneficial to everyone. We are committed to supporting each and every student in the TDSB and together we will make a difference in the schools, classrooms and in the lives of students where it matters most.


We are grateful for the thousands of people in our community – students, staff and families – who shared their voices, experiences and insights to help shape these recommendations. Over the past year, more than 7,000 people shared their voices and while the issues and feedback varied, the overriding theme was consistent: students need access to opportunities to succeed.


Trustees will review the report and recommendations at the Board meeting on December 13. As part of the report’s submission, the Director has recommended that Trustees refer the report back to staff so our team of educators and experts can begin to review and examine these recommendations in greater detail.


No final decisions will be made on December 13. We will continue to work with our communities as we consider the recommendations and there will be more opportunity for the community to have input before any final decisions are made.
