Wrestling 2016-17

Blood, sweat and tears were left on the mats as intense matches took place at Newtonbook SS and Silverthorn CI at the Regional Championships held on February 9th and 10th. To see more photos from the recent championships, visit the Photo Gallery.


TDSSAA Wrestling has returned for another exciting year! In the 2016 - 2017 season we hope to see athletes from all over the city compete for a spot at their designated Regional Championships as well as a spot at City Championships and OFSAA Championships in February and March.

Regional Championships 2017

  • N/E Regional Championship - Thursday, February 9th @ Newtonbrook SS - RESULTS
  • S/W Regional Championship - Friday, February 10th @ Silverthorn CI - RESULTS

From each Regional Championship, the Top 4 Wrestlers in each weight class will qualify for the TDSSAA City Championships.

City Championships 2017

  • City Championship - Thursday, February 16th @ Newtonbrook SS - RESULTS

The Top 2 Wrestlers in each weight class will qualify for the OFSAA Championships in Brampton.

Congratulations to Newtonbrook SS for sweeping both the Boys Overall and Combined Overall Wrestling City Championship Banners by having the top scores as a team! Way to make the crowd proud as they win on home ground!

West Humber CI wins the Girls Overall Wrestling City Championship title!

OFSAA wrestling went to the Powerade Centre in Brampton, ON from March 1st - 3rd.
