Justice Allin isn’t the only one who has experienced his share of setbacks, some more severe than others, on the often-challenging road of life.

Each time, he was able to deal with the consequences, figure out a plan and then set out to overcome the obstacles.

Soon to bid farewell to his teen years, Allin is full of hope, quick to discuss what’s on his mind and, when confronted with distractions, is loaded with just the right solutions

When you meet him, he’s polite, focused and has a radiant smile with a pleasant attitude. Chat with him and it doesn’t take long to witness his spiritually driven determination and a strong passion to excel.

When needed, toss in assistance and guidance from others, and it’s clear that he’s put in the work required to get through some difficult personal times.

Now, an 18-year old and graduate of Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, Allin took the advice of his single-parent mother and returned for a fifth year of high school.

He knew more work had to be done to boost his academic grades – and, with an admiration for playing football, Allin figured that also putting together a good year on the gridiron would improve his chances of ending up in university.

With the pageantry happening on the gridiron, his biggest touchdown could happen in the classroom. Within reach of academic honours, that would qualify him for a scholarship and then set a path of becoming the first member of his family to earn a Degree.

A gifted athlete, having played multiple sports but choosing to focus on football, he was the star athlete in his final year of high school eligibility ending the 2016 season helping his team finish undefeated and with a Northern Bowl championship. He scored a touchdown, filled in for an injured teammate, and threw for two more majors in a 30-18 win over Superior Heights of Sault Ste. Marie.

While his brilliance in football is evident, and having informed McMaster University in Hamilton that he plans to be there for classes in the Fall, Allin wants to play in the Canadian Football League. At 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds tailback, he knows others his size have made it to the pros and he knows anything is attainable with a sound work ethic.

As we roll into the Fall 2017 season of the TDSSAA Football league, we are incredibly excited to experience more memorable games with our players. Don't forget to support your school's teams this season, and best of luck to our athletes!
