Students and staff from Clairlea PS organized two opportunities for the community to give back this holiday season.
A Clairlea Donation Tree was set up near the front office for students, staff and families to “decorate” with donations of new, unused winter gear. The school collected hats, scarves, mittens, and more that were all donated to New Circles, an organization in the community that provides clothing and services to those in need.
All classes at Clairlea PS also received boxes to fill as part of an initiative called The Love Box, created by The Super Sophia Project. The boxes were filled with love and goodies to bring some joy to children who have to spend time in hospital this holiday season while battling cancer. The items were donated, packaged up (with handwritten cards from the classes), and delivered to local hospitals all across the GTA.
