Each year in October, Children’s Aid Societies across Ontario raise awareness about the important role that individuals and communities play in supporting vulnerable children, youth, and families through the provincial Dress Purple Day campaign. Dress Purple Day is about raising awareness of the resources and supports that are available to children, youth and families facing challenges.
At the TDSB, we support Dress Purple Day and share the incredible variety of culturally relevant and responsive resources developed by our Mental Health and Well-Being Team, which are available to all staff, students and families in the TDSB community. PSS’s #IDressPurpleBecause2023 can be found here!
In addition, the Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies (OACAS) has developed resources to support teachers and educational professionals to engage students in conversations about safety and well-being in all aspects of their lives and to help them identify their networks of support. Please find these OACAS resources here.
