As part of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day celebrations across the TDSB, students gathered for the Young Women on the Move Possibilities Fair hosted by Second Street JMS.
For the third year in a row the fair offered a full day of inspiration and hands-on learning for students who identify as female to explore new interests, build confidence, and envision themselves in careers where women have been historically underrepresented.
The morning opened with a welcome address followed by a keynote from Rotman iThink titled Beyond Either/Or: Designing Your Path in a Polarized World, encouraging students to think critically about their futures and the many directions available to them. Students then rotated through small-group breakout sessions featuring diverse workshops in STEM, leadership, trades, wellness, and the arts before taking part in an engaging Engineering Challenge led by University of Toronto.
