April is Earth Month! The Growth of Ursula Franklin’s School Garden

Categories: News News Releases

Two years ago, a seed of an idea was planted at Ursula Franklin Academy and today it has blossomed into a vibrant vegetable and native plant pollinator garden, thanks to the dedication of staff and students.

Despite the challenges and busyness of school life, the garden project took root, with two enthusiastic staff members and sixty eager students joining forces to nurture it.

The school has not only cultivated fresh, organic produce but also a sense of community and generosity. This year students harvested many different vegetables, including popcorn, and shared a large harvest of lettuce with the Stop Food Bank.

As the school prepares for spring, staff and students look forward to the growth, learning, and connections that lie ahead.
