April is Earth Month! EcoSchools Conference Inspires the Next Generation of Climate Action

In March, a group of passionate students from Earl Haig Public School embarked on a journey to explore solutions to one of the most pressing issues of our time: climate change. Their destination? The EcoSchools Climate Change conference!

Armed with curiosity and determination, students delved into a day filled with insightful discussions, engaging workshops, and interactive activities. From understanding the science behind climate change to exploring practical strategies for positive environmental impact, every moment was a step towards a greener future.

While recognizing that conversations related to climate change are complex and difficult at times, the conference emphasized the power of positive change. Students were encouraged to channel their energy into constructive action, focusing on solutions rather than dwelling on the challenges.

Energized by their experience, the Earl Haig students are eager to pay it forward by sharing their knowledge and spreading awareness in their community. They are planning to set up an awareness booth at their school's annual Fun Fair, where they will share their insights with younger peers and the wider community. Through education and outreach, they hope to ignite a spark of environmental consciousness in others.

The EcoSchools Climate Change conference is a catalyst for change. Student leaders are empowered with knowledge and inspired by the day’s experiences, making them feel ready to take on the climate crisis with passion and purpose.
