Aneri Chevli, a Grade 9 student at Georges Vanier Secondary School, has made history by winning first place at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC), earning the prestigious title of World Champion in Principles of Marketing.
Aneri’s journey began at the start of the school year under the mentorship of Josef Stetter, a dedicated teacher at Georges Vanier. From day one, Aneri showed an unwavering commitment to excellence, meticulously preparing for each level of competition by completing over 30 case studies and mastering all key performance indicators required for her category.
Her efforts quickly paid off. Aneri passed a challenging 100-question marketing exam, qualifying for the regional competition. Her momentum continued at the provincial level, where her exceptional performance placed her in the top 20 overall in Ontario. That top-tier ranking earned her a spot at the ICDC, DECA’s global championship event.
Held in Orlando, Florida, the 2025 ICDC brought together 25,000 of the best and brightest DECA competitors from around the world. In the Principles of Marketing category, Aneri shined in both the written exam and two intense, real-time business case study challenges. Her skill and poise propelled her into the top 20 finalists globally.
Then, on April 28, after months of tireless work and competition at every level, Aneri Chevli was officially crowned DECA World Champion in her category, an extraordinary achievement that showcases her talent, dedication and passion for marketing.
Congratulations, Aneri!
