Last week, Dorset PS held the official grand opening of its brand new playground. The playground, built specifically for students in the school’s Diagnostic Kindergarten (DK) and Developmental Disability (DD) programs, was purposefully designed by Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists and Playground Designers.
With this new enclosed playground, students in these programs will now be able to explore, climb and play independently in a space that was designed to meet their physical and cognitive needs.
To celebrate this grand opening, students from the whole school lined a pathway to the playground entrance and held visuals expressing joy, happiness and congratulations as students in the DK and DD classes made their way to the new playground!
