Balmy Beach Community School brought the excitement of the Winter Olympics to life through a school-wide celebration that blended creativity, collaboration and cross-curricular learning.
Students engaged in art, STEM, writing and physical education activities inspired by the Games. From designing medals and decorating classroom doors to engineering bobsleds, the initiative highlighted creativity and teamwork across grades.
Each class selected a country to represent, encouraging students to explore global cultures, learn about athletes and track medal counts, while building school spirit. The celebration began with opening ceremonies on February 6 and continued throughout the month with Olympic-themed events including curling competitions, scooterboard hockey, trivia challenges and a student-designed bobsled race.
The festivities concluded with a closing ceremonies parade, celebrating a month of learning, collaboration and Olympic-inspired fun that brought the entire school community together.
