I am filled with pride in what we have accomplished together this year at the Toronto District School Board. Across our classrooms, playgrounds, offices, and neighbourhoods, the TDSB continues to show what is possible when students, families, staff, and partners work with a shared purpose: helping every learner know they can belong, achieve, and thrive.
Our focus on strengthening student achievement and success is reflected in the work we do every day to prepare students for their future. In this report, you'll learn you’ll learn about the progress we continue to make on our Multi-Year Strategic Plan – to build literacy and math skills, expand mental health programs, open and revitalize schools and improve outcomes for our students. Guided by our priorities, we have ensured that:
- 40,000 kindergarten to grade two students received early reading screening
- 120 schools were identified to strengthen support and improve math learning through Math Learning Partners
- 1,200 families of children with developmental disabilities attended in-person and virtual support sessions
- 924 students spaces were created in the newly re-built Bloor Collegiate Institute
The progress we celebrate is the result of dedication from the staff who inspire and support our schools and communities every day, the families who support their children, and the community partners who make our work stronger. Together, we are building a public education system that can support future generations of capable, motivated, and compassionate leaders.
Sincerely,
Stacey Zucker
Interim Director of Education
